To the people of Mexico:
The Zapatista Army of National Liberation, in order to demand the fulfillment of the San Andres agreements and against the militarization of the indigenous zones will march to the city of Mexico with 1,111 Zapatista communities.
This great Zapatista and indigenous march will take place in the month of September of this year, and its route to Mexico City will be the following:
September 8th- Farewell ceremony to the EZLN delegation. This day, during the afternoon and in the city of San Cristobal de Las Casas, we will conduct a ceremony accompanied by the indigenous brothers and sisters of other political social, and non-governmental organizations of Chiapas, in order to formally deliver the representation of the EZLN to the men and women who will march to the City of Mexico.
September 9th- Chiapas and Oaxaca. The march begins. During the early morning hours of the 9th, the motorized march will begin towards Mexico City. We will direct ourselves to the city of Juchitan, in the state of Oaxaca, where we will find our indigenous brothers and sisters who are Huaves, Chinantecos, Zapotecos, Zoques, Chontales and human rights, political, social, and non-governmental organizations as well in an action we will carry out together.
September 10th- Oaxaca. From Juchitan we will continue to the capital of that state. In the city of Oaxaca we will carry out a political action at the monument to Emiliano Zapata. In the Plaza of the Danza [dance] of the city we will participate in an action together with Mazateco, Chicateco, Zapoteco, Mixteco, Chinantecos, Mixes indigenous people and human rights, political, social, and non-governmental organizations.
September 11th.- Oaxaca, Puebla and Morelos. From the capital of Oaxaca, we will march to Huajuapan, in the same state. Here in Huajuapan we will be accompanied by Triqui, Mixteco and Zapoteco Indians as well as human rights, political, social, and non-governmental organizations.
September 12th.- Morelos, and the Central Plaza [Zocalo] of Mexico City. This day we will follow the route taken by the troops of general Emiliano Zapata in 1914, and march until we arrive in the Federal District by Xochimilco and from there to the Central Plaza.
Brothers and Sisters of Mexico:
Throughout this march we will meet up with other contingents of indigenous brothers and sisters, with whom we will proceed towards Mexico city in order to demand the end to the militarization of the indigenous regions of the country, to protest for the lack of fulfillment of the San Andres agreements, and to demand, for everyone a Mexico with democracy, liberty and justice.
Shortly we will let you know the route our march will be following from Xochimilco to the Plaza, as well as the activities programmed for the 7 days in which we will remain in the capital of the Mexican Republic.
